We were sitting around, kind of not knowing what to do," Shepet said. "We came up with this idea because for about the last 10 years I detailed boats for people on the side. ... We did some research and found there wasn't a mobile boat cleaning service in the area."

On May 1, Dockside Watercraft Cleaners was born. The company has grown quickly and has serviced more than 200 boats.

"People are using their boats way more often, I think, than in previous years because people are working from home and they have more time spent at their houses," Shepet said. "If you're a lake home owner and you want to get your boat cleaning service prior to us entering the market, the only opportunity for you was to pull it off the water and take it into one of the local dealerships."

Shepet said Dockside Watercraft Cleaners aims to take the hassle out of boat maintenance by bringing a low-cost detailing service to the customer. The mobile service is for boats of all kinds and offers three wash packages, ranging from a basic maintenance cleanup to a full detail and wax.

"We offer contactless cleaning services as well as ensuring our crew is always being diligent about sanitizing everything we touch within the boat," Shepet said. "Our clients have been extremely happy with our service and offerings.
